On the 24th-26th April St Canice’s GAC hosted our Easter Gaelic Camp for boys from Primary 3-7 at O’Cahan Park

We had close to 60 boys in attendance for each of the three days, and they enjoyed various activities throughout the morning to help aid their development, followed by a blitz in the afternoon.

The lads all had a great time showing off their skills and maintaining great composure throughout some very competitive matches in the afternoons. Their behaviour throughout the three days is a real credit to themselves, their families and their schools.

Some players were awarded a football as an award for their skills, teamplay, respect to others and a willingness to try their best throughout that day. It was a really tough decision each day to pick winners, if we had enough footballs we would have given them all one each.

The camp was a great success and although the weather helped make it enjoyable, the success was down to the coaching and mentoring from our members. The many minor footballers, the current underage coaches and our current senior players who all came and gave up their time to attend the camp. The success came down to you.

As a thank you from the club to all the boys who attended, everyone received an Easter egg and an ice cream on the last day at home time. (even though this did cause a minor stampede). A huge thanks to Brian McKeever for organising that.
Details of our summer camp will be released soon so stay tuned.
