FAO: ALL MEMBERS
St Canice’s GAC have been part of this community initiative where a large number of Defibrillators have been brought into our community and placed in various locations all around the town. We have one located at the front of our club premises for convenience to the General Public and in close proximity to Páirc Ui Catháin and a second located at Páirc na n-Óg.
Now that all these defibrillators are in place, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) are facilitating a familiarisation day with a focus on CPR and Defibrillator training.
This will take place on Saturday 25th November in Dungiven Library. There are 4 time slots…
10.00am – 11.00am
11.15am – 12.15pm
1.00pm – 2.00pm
2.15pm – 3.15pm
If you are a Manager/Coach this training is particularly important for you and we would really encourage all our coaches to attend whether you are working with U8s or Adult players. However doing this course is not restricted to managers and coaches or people involved with teams, it is open to all club members. It is important to emphasize that you do not need any previous medical experience to do this training.
Important notes…
• Training will last 1 hour
• There will Q&A session afterwards
• There will be a short period of hands-on training included
• No previous experience needed
• This is completely FREE
We encourage all our managers, coaches and club members to seriously consider doing this training, you just never know when you could find yourself in a position where these life-saving skills could come in useful. Our community needs as many people trained as possible from all age groups.
Martin Heaney is coordinating this for St Canice’s GAC club members and his contact number is 07918-134409. If you would like to book a slot please text your name and preferred slot time to Martin or give him a call if you would like to find out more about the training.
Thank you
