The week that was:
Our Minors made it to the semi-finals of the Championship with a solid win against Steelstown in Craigbane on Monday night. After a slow, and although not at their best, Dungiven were always pretty comfortable in this game and were certainly deserving winners. There’s room for improvement ahead of the semi-final in a week’s time, where the opponents will be either Magherafelt or Loup.

Commiserations to St Canice’s Ladies seniors who lost by the minimum margin to Moneymore in the County Junior final on Saturday in Owenbeg. This result was a huge disappointment for the girls who had led for most of the game, only to suffer heartbreak as Moneymore scored a point from a free to secure a 1 point victory just before the final whistle. No doubt the ladies will be back again stronger and more determined next season for a county title.

Fundraising:
Lucky Dip Draw:
This is the final week of ticket-selling for the Lucky Dip draw before the winners are drawn next Sunday – tickets have sold well, but there are still tickets out there that should be returned asap. We would ask everyone in the GAA community to support us in this fundraiser in aid of the Páirc na nÓg Car Park & Changing Facility (work already well underway). Choose your tickets carefully, as the price of your ticket is based on the serial number in those sealed envelopes – there are 2,000 tickets, all with a unique price, priced from £0.01 to £20.00. Whatever the price of your ticket, you stand a chance of winning the £3,000 top prize on 18th September, with 5 other prizes from £1,000 to £100. We’d especially ask the parents of our Underage teams to support us. Thank you and best of luck
Club Lotto:
This week’s Lotto numbers, drawn on Sunday 11th September were 06 – 17 – 20 – 30
No Jackpot winner, and one 3-number £20 winner: Mary B McCloskey.
Thank you to everyone who supports us with this core fundraiser for our Club – thanks also to all of our loyal and committed collectors and helpers.

The Club will run a member’s end-of-year dinner dance on Saturday 3rd December in The Roe Park Resort, Limavady. This is intended to be a non-profit event – it’s very much about bringing our members together in the way we did for last year’s Gala Dinner which was a huge success. Tickets (to include 4-course meal, music and a free bus to/from venue) are priced at £25 each, and we have a £5/week payment scheme running for anyone who wishes to use it. To reserve your ticket please give a deposit and your name to any committee member or leave in the bar.
Kevin Lynch Hurling Club – Gala Dinner
St Canice’s GAC will have a table at the Hurling Club’s Gala Dinner, taking place on 5th November in The Tullyglass House Hotel, Ballymena. If you would like to be at the club-table on the night please let a committee member know asap – seats priced at £100 each.
