Michael Glackin will be providing the music at the launch of this year’s Ulster Fleadh in St. Canice’s Gac on Friday June 15th.
He will be joined on stage by a collection of top class musicians and will be performing an eclectic mix of music from many genres delivered in a unique acoustic style. His set includes new interpretations of traditional Irish songs, songs of social commentary for today’s Ireland, unique takes of contemporary hits and original songs. Having played for many years across a variety of styles from rock, pop and country with his covers band ‘Fresh’ to travelling extensively performing Irish folk music around the world Michael has developed a style that is all his own. While moving through a variety of instruments in his set, it’s really all about the voice; his unique style, vocal skills and emotional delivery has seen him attract an ever growing audience week after week to his regular gigs and he is rapidly developing a reputation as one of the finest folk singers in The North. For those that have not had the opportunity to hear Michael and his bandmates perform before this should be a night not to be missed.
