Underage Training on Wednesday night

Underage training resumes this Wednesday night as follows:

U6 – St Canice’s Primary School Pitch: 6:30pm – 7:15pm

U8 – St Patrick’s School Pitch: 7pm – 8pm

U10 – St Patrick’s School Pitch: 7pm – 8pm

U12 – St Patrick’s School Pitch: 7pm – 8pm

Our U8U10 teams were supposed to have challenge matches against Limavady on Wednesday night, but unfortunately Limavady are unable to travel this week – they hope to rearrange this for next week.

Please spread the word about training – with only a few weeks of the season left we want to get as many as possible out for these sessions.

U6 Training this week as normal (weather permitting) at 6:30pm on Wednesday evening.  Limavady are planning to come to Dungiven on Wednesday night to play challenge matches against our U8 & U10 teams – watch out for the Teamer texts to confirm arrangements.  U12 Training as normal on Wed night.  U12’s will be playing in 11-a-side Blitz’s every Saturday during August – as our panel is quite small we need all players to do their best to turn out for these games. Our U14’s had mixed fortunes in the Championship last week – the A team had a great result against Lavey, but our B team fell to a very strong Ballerin team.
Last chance to reclaim anything left behind at Summer Camp – call Tony on 077 3991 6443.

Underage Notes

After some disruption over the last couple of weeks, under 6, 8, 10 & 12 training takes places on the school pitches as normal each Wednesday night…can parents please note that U8’s are now training Wednesday night too (instead of Saturday) from 7-8pm.  After something of a lull in their programme our U14’s begin their championship campaign this Tuesday evening – it has been a busy year for this squad but as we approach the business-end of the season we encourage all players to re-focus on this competition to ensure we approach our games with the mind-set that help deliver unprecedented success over our county, provincial and All-Ireland Féile campaigns. St Canice’s annual U12 competition has now been rearranged for Saturday 1st September – more details will follow closer to the time.

There are still many unclaimed “lost” items gathered up during this year’s Summer Camp (Hoodies, Waterproof Coats, Tracksuit Trousers, Caps) – anything remaining unclaimed by Sun 5th August will be donated to St Vincent de Paul.  Please contact Tony on 077 3991 6443 for more information.

Thanks to all Underage players and coaches who took part in the Fleadh Pageant – hope all the face-paint washed off OK!

Ulster Fleadh Uladh 2012 Dungiven.
A great weeks entertainment was had throughout the week in the Club with packed out nights in Bar and Main Hall with musicians from around Ireland who entertained the audiences.
Saturday Night saw the Pagent finish up in The Gaelic Field, and with a large crowd in the terrace to see all the floats and the adults and children who dressed up for the event.
St Canice’s Gac would like to say thank you to the Ulster Fleadh Uladh 2012 committee who done a fantastic job organising the week and to all the musicians who came into the Club and played to the patrons. Thank you to everyone who helped in any way in and around the Club during the week to help with the smooth running of the events. And to Our Ladies committee for their tiresome work they put in all week providing food and sandwiches.
