St Canice’s GAC, Dungiven – Club Notes w/c Mon 17th October 2016
Last Week’s Results:
|Fri 14th Oct||U21 Championship||Dungiven||1-08||Swatragh||1-15|
The week that was:
Hard luck to our U21s who were beaten on Friday night at home to Swatragh. Whilst there wasn’t much between the teams in terms of possession, it was Swatragh’s more clinical use of the ball that was the difference on the night.
St Canice’s GAC are committed to help our youngest players develop and refine their gaelic football skills in a progressive and coordinated way – to this end we would like to recruit an appropriately experienced school’s coach, to work for a few hours each week, to deliver an agreed programme to our children across the local schools. If you would be interested in finding out more about this role please contact our Chairman, Kieran McKeever, or our Secretary, Sean Owens by Sunday 23rd October.
We’re delighted to announce the release of a new and extended range of O’Neill Sports Club Gear – highlights include the new Cape Half-Zip, the skinny-leg Track-suits bottoms (two styles) and the Roma Polo. Although the Christmas orders have closed now (meaning we can’t guarantee new orders will be here in time for the turkey), you can still view and place orders for the gear on the Club website using the following link: http://www.dungivengac.com/product-category/christmas-order-2016.
This week’s winning Lotto numbers, drawn Sunday night, were: 03 – 05 – 10 – 16
No Jackpot winner, but three lucky £20 winners: James O’Kane, Allison Ferris, Veronica McLaughlin. Next week the Jackpot rolls on to a very healthy £5,100.
As always, thanks to everyone who regularly supports us with the Club Lotto. This is our main fundraising effort and is essentially our lifeblood income to help us fund all of our teams running costs, and to also support many of our strategic development projects. Whilst the Lotto remains a strong contributor for us we know that it can and should do better – parts of our town are no longer served by regular collectors, and we’d like to change this. If you think you can help, either as a collector or a coordinator of our Lotto, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please give your name to any of the Executive Committee.

2016 End-of-Year Club Dinner Dance
The Club will run an end-of-year dinner dance on Saturday 3rd December in The Roe Park Resort, Limavady. This is intended to be a community-event that is open to all friends of St Canice’s GAC: members, their families & friends, and our fellow-gaels from across our neighbouring hurling, camogie and ladies’ football clubs. This will be a non-profit event aimed at bringing all of our club friends together in the way we did for last year’s Gala Dinner which was a huge success. Tickets (to include 4-course meal, music by the super Bad Penny, and a free bus to/from venue) are priced at £25 each, and we have a £5/week payment scheme running for anyone who wishes to use it. To reserve your ticket please give a deposit and your name to any committee member or leave in the bar.
