The week that was:
The U12’s were in action in the Indoor League in Magherafelt on Friday night. Our A Team won two of their three games, losing to Glen and winning against Newbridge and Desertmartin. The B Team played two and won two, beating both Slaughtmanus and Doire Colmcille – well done boys.
Our U16s played a challenge match against Loup on Thursday – 20 players were involved, all getting decent game time, and a good solid performance saw us come away with a win.
Our Minors had a second very comfortable win in the Carlin Duffy Cup on Sunday, beating Limavady 3-15 to 0-06 in a one-sided and sometimes very physical quarter-final.
Best of luck to our young players who’ll be involved with the St Pats Maghera team that play in the MacRory Cup Final in Armagh on St Patrick’s Day.
This week’s fixtures:
- Our U14’s have a challenge match v Craigbane on Monday night at 7pm in Páirc na nÓg.
- Minors have no training this week, but do have a challenge match on Wednesday night in Owenbeg. They play Coleraine next Sunday 20th March in the Carlin Duffy Cup semi-final – time and venue TBC.
- Our Seniors begin the year with an away fixture to Steelstown in the Dr Kerlin Cup on Saturday 19th March – 3pm throw-in.
Club membership is now due. Membership for 2016 is a very reasonable £20 per adult, £30 for an adult couple, £10 for students and OAPs, and £5 for underage (max £10 per Underage family). All players must be members, but we’d encourage anyone else who isn’t a member yet to consider joining. Working together, a larger and more active membership will build a better Club for us all. To make it even more convenient, membership can now be purchased online at http://www.dungivengac.com/membership-online/ – just click the “sign up now” link.
There will be an Executive Committee Meeting on Monday 14th March at 8pm.
There will be a Youth Committee Meeting, also on Monday night, at 7pm.
This week’s Lotto will be drawn on Monday night – good luck to all entrants and thanks for your continued support.

Appeals for support:
We would like to form a Ladies Committee to help with occasional events during the year. As with everything, the more people who commit to helping out, the less each person will have to do. Can anyone who’d be willing to make a small commitment to helping the club please give your name to Claire Hasson by texting/calling 077 1414 6103. Thank you.
Thursday is St Patrick’s Day of course and there’s plenty happening around the Club – we’ll be televising all the Club Finals throughout the day, starting with the MacRory Cup Final at 1pm, and there’ll be Irish Music playing right throughout the day. Then at 9:30pm we’ll finish off the day with Louis McTaggart in the Lower Bar. Everyone welcome.
Next Saturday, 19th March, we’ll have music in the Lower Bar from 10pm with “The Worx”.
Remember that we regularly show lots of sports on the big screens in the bar – from Monday night football, mid-week league, cup and European matches, and weekend GAA and soccer matches through Saturday and Sunday. Come along, support your teams and enjoy the atmosphere. Match schedule will be advised through social media later this week.
