Well done to Megan McGrellis and our Drama Group who both represented St Canice’s GAC in the Scór Sinsear in Glenullin on Sunday. Our Scór Drama Group came home as County Champions, so well done to them. Congratulations also go to Aine Brolly who won the singing whilst representing Kevin Lynchs.
The next Executive Committee meeting, unless otherwise advised, will be on Monday 15th February at 8pm.
There will be a Youth Committee meeting this Monday night at 7:30pm. Need as many managers/coaches as possible who are involved with our Underage Teams to be there.
This Week’s Lotto will be drawn on Monday night – £5,000 jacpot so best of luck to everyone who’s picked their numbers.
Last Man Standing Competition:
This week’s fixtures were much sorer on our entrants than the first round. 20 players bit the dust this week (19 of whom picked Kerry) so only 17 make it through to round three. Our Chairman, Kieran McKeever, clearly knows a thing or two about the game, and sits alone on top of the leader-board, but there are a few big hitters right on his tail. Pick carefully from now on everyone.

The Committee of St Canice’s GAC wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the McCloskey Family on the sad passing of Antoinette, wife of Tommy, mother of Ruairi and Tomas, and sister-in-law of our esteemed committee member Patsy. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam uasal. C Mac Íomhair (Cathaorleach) M.C. De Búrca (Rúnaí).
Please support St Patricks Camogie Club as they run what should be a brilliant fundraiser in the Club this Saturday night (13th Feb). Spare a thought for all of the competing couples in the Mr & Mrs Valentines Special as they spend this week busily trying to get to know each other better!
With the centenary of the 1916 Rising fast-approaching, and on behalf of both St Canice’s GAC and Kevin Lynch’s Hurling Club, the Club Hall will host an historical talk on Friday 19th February (time TBC). The talk will be given by Proinnsias Brolly and will reflect on this most significant period in Irish history. It should be an informative and interesting event.
The Club will host the annual Club Mass on Friday 26th February – time TBC.
Remember that we regularly show lots of sports on the big screens in the bar – from Monday night football, mid-week league, cup and European matches, and weekend GAA and soccer matches through Saturday and Sunday. Come along, support your teams and enjoy the atmosphere.
