We’d like to see as many lads as possible getting involved in football this year and would welcome new or returning players at all age groups.
Underage coaches should note that there will be a defibrillator training course in St Canice’s Primary School on Monday 25thJanuary from 3pm-5:30pm. It is important that anyone who’ll be training on the school pitches later this year knows how to access and use the school’s defibrillator so please do your best to attend.
The Club has organised a free Child Protection Course on the evening of Thursday 28th January (times to be confirmed) and we ask that ANYONE involved in underage coaching in our club attends (including parents who help during training sessions by taking drills etc.). We also extend an invitation to anyone involved in the wider GAA family of hurling, camogie and ladies football – you’re all most welcome to attend. It is good practice for coaches/helpers to renew their Child Protection every 3 years so if has been a while since you did yours please come along.
The Club is running a Foundation Level Football coaching course for any of our new coaches and helpers who have not yet had the chance to complete this course. We’d hope to have every coach and parent involved in underage football this year trained to at least foundation level. Course runs on Saturday 30th January (times TBC).
