Well done to our U13 Footballers on making the final of the Kerr Signs U13A competition this year.
In a very exciting semi-final, played in front of a good crowd of spectators in Owenbeg last Tuesday night, the Dungiven boys staged a terrific second-half come-back against Steelstown. Recovering from a 1-05 to 0-03 deficit at half time, Dungiven’s increased work-rate and intensity during the second period brought them to within striking distance as the game entered the final moments. Richie Mullan was the coolest man in Owenbeg as he stepped up to score a goal with a last minute penalty to secure the win by the minimum margin, 2-07 to 1-09. His strike has ensured Dungiven’s place in Monday night’s final against Lavey.
This is the only County Final that our Club will be competing in this year and with the quality in the squad we must stand a reasonable chance of success. The Final is the second game in an Owenbeg double-header tonight.
Our throw-in time is 8pm and players are asked to be at Owenbeg for 7:15pm sharp.
We know that Lavey support will be out in force – we’d hope that plenty of our supporters will make the short trip out the road to cheer on our lads – they deserve as much support as we can give them.
Best of luck to Raymond, his management team, and all the players. You can do it lads.
