Underage Membership remains at £5 per child, with a maximum of £10 per family for two or more underage players.
Adult Membership can also be processed at the Underage Registration night…..single adult membership remains at £25, or avail of the new “Married/Partner” double-membership for £40.
Important: A new GAA ruling came into effect on 1st Jan 2013 making it mandatory for all Underage Players to wear Mouth-Guards / Gumshields during all training sessions and matches – the club will operate a strict policy with regards to this rule so please ensure your children comply – the Club now stocks gum shields in the club shop (open 11am-2pm on Saturdays). Gum Shields will also be available to buy at the Registration night.
Please contact Sean Owens Club Registrar.
Youth Notes
There will be a Youth Committee meeting this Tuesday night at 9:30pm in the Club. It’s important that all underage managers and coaches attend. Anyone working with underage players this year must have done the Child Protection Certificate in the last 3 years – if you need to do/renew this course please speak to Francis or Tony who can book you on the next course in Roe Valley Leisure Centre on Fri 22nd Feb. Anyone interested in the Foundation Coaching Course should also forward their names to the Youth Officers – course running Sat 23rd Feb in Limavady. Some of the underage training has already begun with the rest to follow at the start of February. Full details in next week’s notes and on club Website. Remember that the wearing of gum shields is now mandatory for all underage training sessions and matches – club shop stocks gum shields for all sizes – open 11am-1pm every Saturday. Whilst there has been a healthy turnout at the recent Underage Registration nights we expect there are quite a few underage players still not registered for this year – they should try to do so asap – players must be registered before they can take part in training or matches. We’d especially welcome new players or players who have perhaps drifted away from football over the last few years. Contact Youth Officers with queries or to register.
Féile Peil na nÓg 2013
As part of the City of Culture celebrations for 2013 the Féile Peil na nÓg festival of Gaelic Football will be hosted by County Derry in June of 2013 – as a host club Dungiven will be again required to host children and coaches from the visiting teams. Planning for this huge weekend begins now – we’ll be in touch shortly with all player families to begin organising hosts – families will be expected to host a minimum of two children per house. We’d ask all members to support the Club in our efforts with regards to Féile – as well as hosting there’ll be lots of other jobs to be done during the event so the more willing to lend a hand the better.
Club Gear
The Club Shop, which stocks an extensive range of Club merchandise, is now open every Saturday from 11am-1pm.
