The last Under 8 Indoor Training session takes place on Wednesday night from 6-7pm in the Sports Pavilion. Can parents please note that this is for players who were registered as U8 during the 2012 season – i.e. these players will now be in P4 & P5 – younger players should not be taking part in these sessions for fear that they might get injured playing against the bigger lads.
Our end-of-year Underage Football Presentation was well attended on Sunday 11th November – thanks to all who attended, especially Rev Michael McGavigan and those who attended to make the presentations….our U14 Captains Pauric McNicholl and Fergal Higgins, and our club and county goalkeeper Kevin Farren. Certificates and medals for those who were unable to attend on Sunday night can still be collected – please contact Tony on 077 3991 6443.
A celebration evening for our successful U14 squad will take place in the Club on the night of Saturday 8th December – all of the U14 Squad is invited to attend with their parents. ALL Club managers and coaches are also encouraged to attend this evening to help celebrate the achievements of this team during the 2012 season.
As part of the City of Culture celebrations for 2013 the Féile Peil na nÓg festival of Gaelic Football will be hosted by County Derry in June of 2013 – as a host club Dungiven will be again required to host children and coaches from the visiting teams. Planning for this huge weekend begins now – we’ll be in touch shortly with all player families to begin organising hosts – families will be expected to host a minimum of two children per house. We’d ask all members to support the Club in our efforts with regards to Féile – as well as hosting there’ll be lots of other jobs to be done during the event so the more willing to lend a hand the better.
