St Canice’s are 2012 U14A League Champions after wining against the only other unbeaten team, Kilrea, in the final league match in Kilrea today.
St Canice’s fully deserved their 1-11 to 2-04 victory – in truth they should probably have won by a greater margin. They had to again battle hard against a very tough and probably overly physical Kilrea team, but the Dungiven lads weren’t going to be bullied out of it….. despite Kilrea closing to within a point with only moments remaining, a quick move up-field from the kick-out saw Ritchie Mullan round the keeper and net what was to be the final and decisive score.
Congratulations to the whole U14 squad and Management team – you’re a credit to the Club and we’re all delighted that you got the result you fully deserved today.
