An eventful, dramatic, busy and enjoyable Féile weekend comes to an end today as the Dungiven Team bus and platoon of supporter’s cars think about pointing themselves towards Derry again. After a final meeting with our terrific hosts at Portarlington GAC later this morning, the bus will depart for home around 1:30pm. If our lunch-stop and travel times go according to plan we should arrive at St Canices for 6pm tonight.
Although eventually defeated on the pitch, this group of special young men return to Dungiven tonight as winners. On and off the pitch over this weekend (and indeed over the whole season to date) these lads have been perfect ambassadors for our Club. They are a credit to the jersey, to the Parish, to their families and to themselves, and we should all be very proud of them.
It would be terrific if as many people as possible could get to the club tonight to greet and welcome them home in the way they deserve.
